Terms of Booking

We want you to feel safe, supported and clear about what to expect. These terms are here to protect everyone in the room, and if anything is unclear, just ask.

1. About us

FUME Acting Lab is run by Lewis Ian Bray, 15 Hope St, Liverpool L1 9BQ. By booking, you agree to these terms as they stand at the time of booking.

2. Eligibility

All bookings are for actors aged 18 or over.

3. Deposits and payment

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking for workshops, 1:1 sessions, scene days and self tapes. The balance is due 7 days before your session.

4. Cancellations

If you cancel less than 24 hours before your session, or on the day, the full price is payable.

5. Refunds, transfers and exceptional circumstances

Workshops and 1:1 sessions are not refundable, and this includes deposits. Any booking may be transferred to another date if you let us know at least 24 hours before your session. Please contact us as early as possible to arrange this.

We understand that life can be unpredictable. In exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness or an emergency, we may move your booking to another date at our discretion, even at short notice. This also applies to the cancellation and arrival rules in sections 4 and 8.

6. If we need to change or cancel

If illness, an emergency or circumstances outside our control (such as venue problems or severe weather) mean we cannot run a session, we will offer you another date. If you prefer, or cannot make the new date, we will give you a full refund.

7. Access needs and adjustments

We welcome access needs of every kind and will always consider reasonable adjustments. Email ellis@lewisianbray.co.uk at any time, in your own words. Access riders are very welcome.

8. Arrival, lateness and travel

Our workshop days have a soft start at 9:30am and a hard start at 10:00am. Please arrive between 9:30 and 10:00. Anyone arriving after 10:30am cannot be admitted, and the full price remains payable. For 1:1 sessions, scene days and self tapes, please arrive at your agreed time. Sessions run to schedule and will not be extended for late arrivals.

If you are travelling a long distance, we recommend arranging accommodation the night before. Accommodation is not included in the price. If travel, timing or access needs make arriving on time difficult, tell us beforehand at ellis@lewisianbray.co.uk and we will plan around it with you. Non-attendance is treated as a late cancellation under section 4.

9. Room agreement and conduct

Our sessions are built on respect and consent. Please do not film, photograph or record other participants without their permission. We may ask someone to leave if their behaviour puts the safety or wellbeing of others at risk, and no refund will be given in that case.

10. Health and wellbeing

You take part at your own discretion. Please tell us beforehand about anything that may affect your participation, so we can support you.

11. Footage and materials

FUME Acting Lab owns the tape footage and may use it on social media, crediting you as a collaborator (@fumeactinglab). If a tape was made for a specific audition, we delete it once it has been delivered to you. You will always receive a copy of your own tape. Scripts and materials we provide remain our property and may not be shared or reused.

12. No guarantee of outcomes

We work to bring out your best, but we cannot guarantee casting, representation or any particular result.

13. Complaints and legal

If you have a concern, email ellis@lewisianbray.co.uk and we will respond promptly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
